چکیده

SUS316L stainless steel has been widely used in medical applications. However, some germs frequently adhere to the device surface, resulting infections following implantation surgery. Unfortunately, material lacks antibacterial characteristics that prevent microorganisms from adhering surface. This study aims use electrophoretic deposition deposit chitosan/silver (Ag) as an agent on 316L. The antimicrobial effects of chitosan and silver are well established. During deposition, rectifier voltage was adjusted a constant 10 volts with suspension pH range 2.7 5.1. effect varying physical, mechanical, properties chitosan/Ag thin films investigated. materials’ structure morphology were studied using X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), Fourier- transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR). inhibition examined Kirby-Bauer test. results reveal increasing causes increase thickness, size, aggregation film. highest thickness achieved during 5.1 is 5.265

Preparation of Nanohydroxyapatite-Carbon Nanotube Composite Coatings on 316L Stainless Steel Using Electrophoretic Deposition

Nanohydroxyapatite-carbon nanotube composite coatings were deposited via electrophoretic deposition (EPD). AISI 316L stainless steel and ethanol were used as substrate and dispersing medium, respectively. 5%wt carbon nanotube (CNT) was used as reinforcing phase. Uniform and macrocrack-free coatings were obtained both for hydroxyapatite (HA) and HA-5%wt CNT coatings. Scanning electron micros...

Electrophoretic Deposition of Microwave Combustion Synthesized Hydroxyapatite and Its Carbon Nanotube Reinforced Nanocomposite on 316L Stainless Steel

Nanohydroxyapatite-carbon nanotube Nanocomposite (HA-CNT) coatings were deposited via electrophoretic deposition (EPD). Hydroxyapatite was synthesized via microwave combustion method using calcium nitrate and glycing as starting materials. X-ray diffraction (XRD) and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) revealed that pure hydroxyapatite nanoparticles have been synthesized. AISI 316L s...

Electrophoretic Deposition of Hydroxyapatite

The purpose of this study was to investigate the deposition of the hydroxyapatite (HA) coating via the electrophoresis procedure. The HA deposition was performed in an ethanol, methanol, acetone and isopropanol suspension. Methanol was found to be the best deposition media. Among the different environmental conditions, including the encapsulation of the samples under two vacuum types of pr...
